Job Description

Brief Description of Role: Kennedys are on an upwards trajectory and are seeking to recruit a Litigation Fee Earner (Solicitor or Legal Executive) to handle EL/PL and motor claims. This is a great opportunity to work on a high quality caseload for a variety of clients on defendant personal injury work.

Team Information: The national Liability Division at Kennedys is spread across our UK offices and advises on a broad range of liability claims acting for insurers, claims handlers and self-insuring corporations.

The Sheffield Liability Team deals with claims from small claims track up to high value claims.

Type of Clients:Insurers
Large Fleets and Self-Insureds
Local authorities and Public Authorities
Claims handlers and Third Party Assistors
Type of Cases: Motor Liability
General Liability
Catastrophic Claims
Some Employers' and Public Liability

Requirements: Work independently with supervision, analyse cases in terms of tactics and reporting to clients, be pro active and ordered. Good working knowledge of CPR and case law.

Qualifications: Solicitor

Essential: Good Academics.

Experience: (Type, length, quality, background)
Essential: 1-4 years'* defendant personal injury experience.
Experience of assisting with EL/PL multi-track caseload with minimal supervision.
Valuing personal injury claims including Ogden/future loss calculations.
Instructing experts and taking witness statements.
Excellent client care skills and demonstrable experience of building client relationships.

Desirable: Experience of Ogden tables
Experience of motor claims.
Attendance at Court.
Mediation/JSM and negotiation experience.
We may consider candidates with Claimant experience but Defendant experience is an advantage.
